The C&R Recommendation
Starting this month, we’re thrilled to showcase our new C&R Recommendation section, where we highlight a standout restaurant, café, or shop that has captured our hearts, or our taste buds. This edition, we’re heading to the 11th arrondissement to visit Boulangerie Gana. Nestled on Rue de la Roquette, this charming bakery is a true Parisian gem. Their croissants are a must-try: perfectly flaky, buttery, and a well known establishment in the neighborhood. Whether you’re grabbing a quick morning treat or lingering over a coffee, Boulangerie Gana is a spot that will keep you coming back for more. For anyone looking to start the day the Parisian way, this is an absolute must-visit! 🥐☕ Have other recommendations for our team to try? Share with us at the Concierge Desk below!

This month, we sat down with Michel Setan, founder and CEO of L’Immobilière Montaigne, to uncover the ins and outs of buying property in Paris and greater France. With years of experience navigating the Paris and French real estate market, Michel demystifies the process of buying and renting, covering everything from structuring offers and conducting due diligence to the notarial process, a crucial aspect of any French property transaction. We also dive into how Clinton & Reed is partnering with L’Immobilière Montaigne to give international buyers confidence as they navigate the Paris market. The conversation highlights our exciting joint venture at Résidence Champ de Mars, a unique fractional ownership opportunity that brings one of the city’s most coveted neighborhoods within reach. Whether you’re dreaming of a Parisian pied-à-terre or considering a smart investment in France, this conversation is packed with insider insights and practical advice to guide your next move.

Monthly Review
March has been an exciting and productive month for Clinton & Reed. We were delighted to welcome two new members to our team, Rachel and Amelia. While we will be introducing them more fully in the coming weeks and months, we are thrilled to have them on board as account managers and look forward to the experience and energy they bring! We are thrilled to announce that our founder, Clinton, was nominated for the Arizona-European Young Entrepreneur Award this past February! The award ceremony took place in downtown Phoenix, where our team member and Arizona native, Nicole, proudly represented Clinton & Reed. While we didn’t take home the award, the nomination itself is a testament to the significant impact our team is making in the Franco-American relocation field. We have also continued to expand our global outreach, strengthening connections and forging new relationships across France and around the world. A highlight of this effort has been our exciting partnership in commercial travel and private aviation, allowing us to offer clients unparalleled flexibility and bespoke travel solutions. Whether you’re looking to fly directly from Paris to a safari in Kenya or plan a tailored international itinerary, we can make it happen! Finally, on March 8th, we were proud to celebrate International Women’s Day at Clinton & Reed. Guided by the legacy of the remarkable women of the Reed family, we honor the women on our team and the powerful impact they have on the lives of our clients, driving excellence, creativity, and meaningful change every day.
The Golden Plume

In Paris, a simple question can reveal a lot about someone: Right Bank or Left Bank of the Seine?
In our February poll, 70% of readers chose Rive Droite, 20% Rive Gauche, and 10% couldn’t decide. While the divide is now playful, it has deep historical roots and still shapes Parisian identity.
Historically, Rive Droite (Right Bank) was the center of commerce, power, and luxury, while Rive Gauche (Left Bank), home to the University of Paris and the Latin Quarter, became the city’s intellectual and artistic heart. Over time, these distinctions have shifted: the Left Bank includes chic areas like the 7th arrondissement, and parts of the Right Bank, such as the former industrial 11th, have become trendy bobo (Bohemian bourgeois) neighborhoods.
Still, ask a Parisian where they’re from, and many will answer not just with a neighborhood, but with a side of the river. Rive Droite or Rive Gauche: it remains one of the simplest and most enduring ways to express a Parisian identity.

The Return of the Terasse
As spring arrives and the trees burst into bloom, Paris comes alive with the return of its beloved outdoor terraces! A terrasse isn’t just a rooftop or balcony, it’s the quintessential sidewalk café experience, where you can sip your coffee, watch the world go by, and bask in the golden spring sunshine. It's time to get out those sunglasses and your favourite book!
Fog, Smog or... Sand?
In recent days, you may have noticed a hazy, fog‑like sky. That isn’t smog, it’s Saharan dust that has been carried north from the Sahara Desert by strong winds. This atmospheric dust is a well‑documented, natural phenomenon that often occurs in late winter and spring when southern air flows transport fine mineral particles across the Mediterranean and into France, sometimes giving the sky a yellowish or ochre tint and leaving a fine layer of dust on cars and terraces. Unfortunately, this type of pollution does affect air quality so when these types of dust storms roll in, it is probably best to enjoy the day indoors at one of the many beautiful Parisian museums!

Concierge Desk FAQ
My husband and I are looking to move to Paris. Do we need to already be in France to start the process, or can we begin from abroad?
In most cases, you can begin the process from abroad. For U.S. citizens, the long-stay visa must be applied for through the French consulate in your home country, so that step typically happens before arriving in France.
At the same time, other parts of the move can already begin. For example, we can start the apartment search early, as having a Paris address is often required for the visa application, and in some cases clients are able to secure housing before they move.
Once your moving timeline is clearer, we can also help coordinate logistics such as movers and travel plans, and continue assisting once you arrive in Paris with the practical steps of settling in.
